About Nishi Shuku

Nishi Shuku (西淑) is an illustrator and painter born in Fukuoka, now working between Kyoto and Tottori. She has created illustrations across a wide range of formats, including magazines, advertising, packaging, book covers, and CD jackets.

Her style is warm and instantly endearing, often featuring gentle motifs like birds, horses, bread, and fruit. At the same time, there is a quiet depth beneath the surface. The delicate brushwork and rich colors create a stillness that draws you in the longer you look. It is this balance of softness and calm intensity that makes her work so memorable.
